As of October 12, 2007, FUTURE MSAD 3 has completed the first phase of its Capital Campaign, which was for the 300-seat Mount View School Performing Arts Center and which kicked off in June 2006 on the heals of the May 31, 2006 announcement by Larry Sterrs, President of Unity Foundation, of a challenge grant offered from the Unity Foundation in honor of Bert G. and Coral B. Clifford of Unity!
FUTURE MSAD 3 conducted a $575,000 capital campaign, with $500,000 dedicated entirely to transforming the basic auditorium into a performing arts center. The $500,000 will fund seven major components Ð the electrical infrastructure, a mezzanine and catwalk, theatrical lighting and sound systems, curtains and acoustical elements. The balance of $75,000 represents four years of campaign expenses.
Alicia J. Nichols, Campaign Director for FUTURE MSAD 3, has been guiding our fundraising efforts since February 2006. Ms. Nichols' focus and expertise have been instrumental in helping FUTURE MSAD 3 board members with grants, research and organizing our Capital Campaign for the Performing Arts Center. In addition, she and FUTURE Board Members invited two well-respected community members, Rod McElroy and Laurie Osgood, to be honorary co-chairs of our Capital Campaign. We are grateful for the ongoing support and participation of all three of these committed individuals. To contact Campaign Director Alicia J. Nichols, please call 207-852-1056 or email: ajnichols@prexar.com.
Please join in our efforts and stay tuned to the news and information about our upcoming events and fundraising activities as well as reports on future plans for more fundraising for the Mount View school complex.
